Hello Maria,
Firstly I want to thank you for your quick response, I also want you to read this very carefully because I am not here to waste your time neither am I here to waste mine. I know you might not be related to Mr Oscar but I am very sure you can assist me with this as you have the same last name as my late client. I contacted you about an abandoned sum of $7,500,000.00 USD. In June 2012 a customer called "Oscar Bertoletti Lizano" came to our bank (Barclays) for business discussions and investment as at then one of the financial advisers of my bank, I encouraged him to consider various growth of funds with prime ratings being my bank's inflation was on a rise and so was indeed encouraging its customers on investing. Then he invested Five Million United State Dollars only. Based on my advice, we were able to spin the initial deposit with profit and interest to 7.5 million U.S Dollars. After two years, my bank (Barclays Bank) sent several notice to him without response and unfortunately,Mr Oscar who until his demise was my client had been involved in an auto crash, He lived here in United Kingdom but died in a car crash along with his nuclear family at France while on sabbatical in the summer of 2014, may their souls rest in peace. He died without leaving a Will and every effort made to find his extended family through your embassy was without success. Because of the sensitive nature of private banking, most customers do not nominate next of kin in their investment, also usually in most cases leave their WILLS in our care, in this case; our now deceased client died in-testate. My late client worked with Royal Dutch Plc. I am contacting you to assist me because you have the same surname/last name with my late client. I anticipate your cooperation. Treat this proposal with utmost confidentiality and urgency for a 100% success. Do not take undue advantage of the trust I have bestowed in you. I was the personal accountant to Mr Oscar that gives me more opportunity to have access to my late client's details and documents that can help us secure the funds of my late client. If this must be successful you must be ready and trust me also you must follow my every instructions because I will be guiding you on how you will be contacting my bank for the release of the funds as his next of kin.and I know we will be able to pull it through following proper banking and legal channels with your assistance at your end. Once more, I ask that if you find no interest in this project that you should discard this mail and forget I ever contacted you, I also ask that you not be vindictive and destructive, and do not destroy my career. An opportunity like this only comes once in a lifetime. I admire your stance on confidentiality of this transaction because only in that way this can be successful. I will tell you a little about myself.

I was the Director of The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation until May 2008. and a Member of the Global Board of Managers of Omgeo LLC. I am happily married with three beautiful kids. I have dedicated my entire life to my career and my family.

Now. I am prepared to give you all the necessary details to you as the closest surviving relation of our deceased customer (Oscar Bertoletti Lizano). I am also proposing that after a successful execution of the business deal and we secure the funds., the funds of my late client will be shared at a 60/40 ratio. That is 60% for me as the initiator of this and 40% for you. If you give me positive signals, I will initiate this process towards a conclusion. I wish to inform you that you should not contact me via official channels because our calls are highly monitored at the bank. So you can only reach me through this email till we have successfully secured the funds.

  1. I've received the exact same mail from a different person that works in the same bank. The only difference is that they changed the surname of the deceased to match mine.
First red flag was the rounded sums 7.5m, 5m and 40% of 7.5m is 3m.
Second red flag is that the curriculum is actually posted publicly so is quite easy to copy paste.
Third red flag is that if the person saw my curriculum knows that we both are from the same country and yet she speaks to me in english instead of address me in spanish.
Fourth red flag is using an e-mail to contact me which will leave a piece of evidence that could compromise them later, usually if they are proposing you to do something illegal or shady they wouldn't reach you trough a mail but a phone call or in person so there is no evidence.
The fifth red flag is that they actually give information about them and even say they have children and a husband, who would give that information to someone that you dont know and trust that he will not use them against them.
